November 10 - St. Andrews/Tales of Scottish Survivors
Pat Gemmiti, author of The Resilient Thistle, will do a presentation based on her book with a brief overview of the surrounding events leading up to the Battle of Dunbar, the death march to Durham Cathedral, transport of prisoner/slaves to the New World Colonies, enslavement/servitude/survival, and King Phillip's war. She will also present information of the recent archeological find of human remains on the grounds of Durham University and the process of identifying the bones as those from Scot Soldiers of the 1650 battle.
After the meeting, signed copies of "The Resilient Thistle" will be available for those interested, at a discounted price.
BYOB and potluck (able to serve 6-8 people)
